Before the Session
The Pre-Session Consultation
As your trusted Chattanooga maternity photographer, I want to ensure your session is everything you’ve dreamed of! We’ll start with a quick phone call to discuss your vision for the session, including ideal dates, locations, and outfit options. Whether you have a specific location in mind or need suggestions, I’ll help you find the perfect spot that reflects your style and personality. After our call, I’ll send over a contract and invoice for your session fee retainer and begin planning your perfect maternity session down to the last detail.
The Client Closet
To make your maternity session stress-free, I offer a curated Client Closet of stunning dresses designed to beautifully highlight you and your baby bump. Access to these dresses is included in your session fee! You’re welcome to come over and try on options before your session to ensure you feel confident and radiant. Don’t see exactly what you’re envisioning? Let me know—I may be able to rent or purchase your dream dress! On the day of your session, I’ll bring your selected dresses pressed and looking perfect for you and then take care of all the cleaning afterward.
The Client Experience Prep Guide
Preparing for your maternity session should be simple and fun! That’s why I provide every client with a comprehensive Client Experience Prep Guide. This guide includes styling tips, advice for getting children excited about the session, and a sample checklist to ensure you feel prepared. I’ll also send a pre-session questionnaire to help me tailor the maternity session to your unique preferences, so you can feel confident knowing everything is thoughtfully planned. As a fellow mom, I understand how precious your time is, and I’m here to make your maternity photo session experience effortless and enjoyable from start to finish.
At the Session and Beyond
Your maternity session is designed to be a relaxed and joyful experience. We’ll explore your chosen location, and I’ll guide you with poses that beautifully showcase your baby bump while also capturing candid moments that reflect the love and anticipation you feel for your little one. Whether you want the focus to be entirely on you or include your husband and older children, we’ll create meaningful images that celebrate this incredible chapter of your life.
After your session, I’ll carefully edit the best images and in just 2–3 weeks, you’ll receive access to a private online gallery where you can view your images and select your image collection. Each image collection also comes with a significant print store credit to spend on prints, wall art, or albums directly from a professional lab and delivered to your door.
As your Chattanooga maternity photographer, my goal is to make every step of this process easy and enjoyable, so you can focus on cherishing these fleeting moments.
What does it cost?
The session fee for maternity sessions is $250 and image collections start at $750. Your image collection is selected after you see your fully edited photos in an online gallery. My clients plan to spend a minimum of $1000+ on their photo session after the final images are selected.
Can I share something personal?
I did not have a maternity session for myself and it is one of my biggest regrets. I loved being pregnant and I even loved the way I looked! But now I don’t know if I’ll be able to have any more children and I may not get the opportunity to ever have maternity photos. Even so, my next pregnancy could be different and the photos won’t be the same as they would have been. I wish I could go back and tell myself to get a maternity session when I had the chance!
When you think about it, 9 months is such a short time in your life and you deserve maternity photos to preserve the memory of that time and to show to your future children and grandchildren. The moral of the story is don’t be like me; get the maternity photo session! You will thank me later. I promise.
Maternity Photo Session FAQ
When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?
In general I recommend between 30-35 weeks. This way there is still plenty of time to get the photos back to you before Baby arrives. But anytime during your pregnancy is the best time and if you want them earlier, do it! If you waited until the last minute and just now decided you want them, send me a message anyway and let’s figure it out! I believe maternity photos are that important!
Why should I get maternity photos?
Every pregnancy is different and while it may not feel like it now, these 9 months are such a short time in your life and photos are one of the best ways to keep the memory of this time. You deserve a photoshoot that makes you feel beautiful as your body is literally growing a unique human made by you.
What should I wear?
Anything that makes you feel beautiful! But if you need help, I have a small collection of dresses in my client closet that range from simple to elegant. Let’s discuss your style and figure out what works best for you. You’re welcome to wear one of my pieces or I can possibly order you something special.
Who can be included in my maternity session with me?
We can do a full family session including your husband and/or other children or just do a solo session that focuses solely on you and you baby bump! You can even include your pet!
How much does a maternity session cost?
Each session includes multiple poses and groupings with family members as well as lots of individuals of Mama. Plus, access to the client closet is included! Maternity sessions start with a $250 session fee and you choose which images to purchase only after they've been edited.
