With over seven years of professional experience, a background in storytelling, and an eye for detail, I approach each session with intention, guiding every step from styling to final artwork so nothing feels left to chance.

I believe the most meaningful photographs are the ones that don’t just capture a moment, but become part of your home and your family’s story.

The process is designed to feel calm, seamless, and thoughtfully handled, even in the middle of busy family life.

Because the goal isn’t simply to deliver beautiful images, it’s to create something lasting. Something that reflects your family as you see them, and only becomes more meaningful with time.

“Christian, this is unbelievable. You are a miracle worker of a photographer! How on earth did you do this? I can't believe you were able to create such amazing photos with a bundle of grumpy kids and tired grown-ups! You deserve an award for this!”

Speaking of awards...

Picture your photo session like this...

A relaxed, fully guided experience designed to feel effortless from beginning to end.

Before your session, we’ll plan everything together, from wardrobe and location to the overall feel of the finished artwork in your home. During the session itself, you’ll never be left wondering what to do. With gentle, expert direction, I’ll guide your family into natural connection, genuine interaction, and beautifully flattering light while keeping the experience calm and unhurried.

No stiff posing. No awkward silences. Just thoughtful guidance, refined imagery, and a session designed to feel easy for everyone involved.

And if styling feels overwhelming, you won’t have to figure that out alone either. From personalized guidance to pieces available through the Client Closet, every detail is intentionally planned to help your photographs feel cohesive, timeless, and beautifully finished.

“Christian is hands down the best photographer I have ever worked with... I will forever cherish these images and will now always use Christian Grant for all of my pictures!!”

Planning your Session

After booking, you’ll receive a detailed prep guide, a short planning questionnaire, and complimentary access to the Client Closet for women and girls. We’ll also schedule a relaxed consultation in your home to design a session for your family that feels thoughtful, personalized, and beautifully cohesive.

We’ll discuss the images you’re most hoping for, locations, wardrobe, color palettes, and how you may want your finished photographs displayed in your home, so the session is created with the final result in mind from the very beginning.

Photographing Your Family Session

Session day is designed to feel relaxed, organized, and enjoyable from beginning to end. With gentle direction throughout the session, you’ll never be left wondering what to do while still having space for natural interaction and genuine connection to unfold.

Selecting Your Artwork

After the session, we’ll meet for a personalized ordering appointment where you’ll view your images and select the artwork and photographs that best fit your home and family.

Rather than navigating dozens of decisions alone, you’ll receive guidance in choosing favorite images, wall art, framed pieces, and keepsakes designed to be enjoyed for years to come.

When your finished artwork is ready, I will personally deliver your pieces to you. And I’m here for you every step of the way. Have a question? Want to know more about me?

Cool! I want to know more about you, too!

Hi, my name is Christian, and I am one. I strive to honor God first and foremost in everything I do, including through photography.

My journey started when I was 8 years old, armed with a disposable film camera handed to me by my second-grade teacher. While other little girls were playing house, I was playing “photography studio.” I’d dress up my younger siblings in their Sunday best, rearrange the furniture to create a blank wall, and convince them to pose for me. Those early photos weren’t exactly masterpieces, but they sparked a passion that led me to where I am today.

Now, my siblings bring their kids to my in-home studio for updated portraits instead, and I love seeing how my childhood love of photography has come full circle. As the oldest of seven children, I understand families—the chaos, the love, and all the moments in between—and that connection is what led me to specialize as a family photographer in Marietta.

But it wasn't until June of 2019 that I finally decided to get serious about taking photography from a hobby and turning it into a career.

So, why did you decide to be a photographer?

In December of 2018, my life changed forever with the premature birth and subsequent loss of my twin boys. That devastating experience brought a profound realization—life is too short to spend it on things that don’t truly matter. During those early, grief-filled days, picking up my camera became a source of comfort and joy.

Returning to my 9-to-5 desk job wasn’t possible—mentally, physically, or emotionally. But we had bills to pay, and I found myself at a crossroads. In that moment, I felt like I had nothing to lose and everything to gain by pursuing what I loved most: photography. I didn’t know if I would fail or succeed, but I knew in my heart that capturing meaningful moments for families like yours was exactly what I was meant to do.

Speaking of family - this is mine!

The Lord blessed us with a daughter a year after we lost the twins, and this is what my family looks like now.

Becoming Nora's mother changed me again. It deepened my understanding of how quickly time passes, how desperately we want to remember it all, and how few photos we moms often have that actually include us. I don’t take lightly the privilege of photographing other families, especially fellow mothers. I know what it means to want to freeze time. I know how sacred these moments are.

Yes, photographers need photos too! I like to practice what I preach and be the client regularly. It's good to get to experience what it's like on the other side of the lens so that I know how to serve my clients the way I like to be served! I'm especially grateful for these family photos taken by my friends and photographers, Christin Sofka in 2023 and Robbie McCrary in 2024.

Atlanta Photographer FAQ

Where are you located?

I'm currently based in Chattanooga, TN until June 2026, then I will be living and photographing in the Atlanta area. Limited Chattanooga availability remains. Now booking for Atlanta.

Do you travel?

Yes, I love photographing families in new places, especially if there’s a beach or mountain view involved! If you’re interested in a session outside the Atlanta area, just reach out, and we’ll talk through the details.

How do I contact you?

You can fill out the form above to start the conversation, or email me directly at hello@christianmichellephotography.com

Do you ever partner with community organizations?

Giving back in ways that align with my values is something I care deeply about. If you’re working on a meaningful project or cause and think we might be a good fit, feel free to reach out. I’d love to learn more.

What gear do you use?

I shoot with two Nikon Z8s and a variety of lenses depending on the session. My favorites are the 85mm f/1.2 and 135mm f/1.8 as they create that dreamy depth I love. I mostly work with natural light, but I’m fully equipped (and confident) using on-camera and off-camera flash when the situation calls for it.

Do you photograph weddings?

I do not photograph weddings, but I do love working with couples who want to get dressed up again for beautiful portraits after the big day. Whether you're celebrating an anniversary or simply want photos that are different than what you were able to get at your actual wedding, I'm all in! And if you’re looking for a traditional wedding photographer, I’m happy to recommend someone wonderful.

Do you mentor other photographers?

Yes, if you’re a fellow photographer looking for support, I’d love to help. Whether you need guidance with editing, session flow, or getting more comfortable with your camera, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to chat, and if you’re interested in something more in-depth, we can talk about setting up a custom mentorship.

Do you want to hang out?

Absolutely! Send me a message, I’d love to connect.
