I am a Chattanooga photographer who will make getting beautiful photos of your family fun and easy! My style is vibrant and natural with a focus on fun so no one gets bored! You'll love your photos so much that you'll want to share them with everyone you know!

“Christian, this is unbelievable. You are a miracle worker of a photographer! How on earth did you do this? I can't believe you were able to create such amazing photos with a bundle of grumpy kids and tired grown-ups! You deserve an award for this!”

Speaking of awards...

Picture your photo session like this...

Imagine a session that’s relaxed, stress-free, and filled with laughter, hugs, and genuine smiles from everyone — yes, even Dad and the kids! The goal is simple: to make sure everyone feels at ease so you can enjoy the moment and not worry about stiff posing. I'll guide you into the perfect spots, then encourage natural interactions with a fun question, a silly game, or just some playful prompts to create those special moments together. This way, we capture both classic portraits and candid shots that reflect your family's true connection.

You won’t have to stress about what to do or how to stand. I’ll be there every step of the way with a clear plan, making sure you feel confident and look great. Need help with outfits? I’ve got that covered too!

“Christian is hands down the best photographer I have ever worked with... I will forever cherish these images and will now always use Christian Grant for all of my pictures!!”

The Consultation

Our journey together starts with a quick phone call where we’ll discuss your vision for the session. Whether it’s a special milestone, a unique theme, or simply capturing your family’s personality, I’ll ask thoughtful questions to get to know you better. We’ll also talk about locations that align with your style. As a Chattanooga photographer, I have a curated list of beautiful spots in the area and am always discovering new gems. If you’re not sure where to shoot, I’ll guide you to the perfect place!

Before Your Session

Leading up to the date of your session, I'll be keeping a close eye on the weather so we can adjust if needed. I’ll also visit the location beforehand whenever possible to ensure it’s ideal for your session and free of any surprises. Every session is carefully planned to include the poses, prompts, and moments we discussed to create a smooth and enjoyable experience.

If you’re interested in my Client Closet, we’ll set up a time for you to try on options and finalize styling for the whole family. Together, we’ll make sure everyone looks and feels amazing!

During Your Session

My goal is to create a relaxed, fun environment where everyone feels comfortable. We’ll laugh, chat, and explore together while I guide you through natural poses and playful prompts. I’ll be looking for those golden moments where the light, the setting, and your family’s connection come together to create something magical. If something isn’t working, I’m always flexible and ready to adjust to make sure you have the best experience possible.

After Your Session

As soon as I’m home, I’ll carefully back up your photos and start reviewing them. I personally go through every image, removing test shots, duplicates, or anything that doesn’t meet my high standards. Only the best photos are selected for editing to create a gallery that you’ll absolutely love!

Once editing is complete, you’ll receive an email with a link to your slideshow preview and instructions for the next steps. From there, you can choose your favorite images, download your collection, and use your print credit to order beautiful artwork for your home.

I’m here for you every step of the way! Have a question? Need help downloading or ordering prints? Want advice on designing a gallery wall or creating a custom album? Just reach out—I’d love to help!

Want to know more about me?

Cool! I want to know more about you too!

Hi, my name is Christian and I am one. I strive to honor God in everything I do, including through photography.

My journey started when I was 8 years old, armed with a disposable film camera handed to me by my second-grade teacher. While other little girls were playing house, I was playing “photography studio.” I’d dress up my younger siblings in their Sunday best, rearrange the furniture to create a blank wall, and convince them to pose for me. Those early photos weren’t exactly masterpieces, but they sparked a passion that led me to where I am today.

Now, my siblings bring their kids to my in-home studio for updated portraits instead, and I love seeing how my childhood love of photography has come full circle. As the oldest of seven children, I understand families—the chaos, the love, and all the moments in between—and that connection is what led me to specialize as a family photographer in Chattanooga.

But it wasn't until June of 2019 that I finally decided to get serious about taking photography from a hobby and turning it into a career.

So, why did you decide to be a photographer?

In December of 2018, my life changed forever with the premature birth and subsequent loss of my twin boys. That devastating experience brought a profound realization—life is too short to spend it on things that don’t truly matter. During those early, grief-filled days, picking up my camera became a source of comfort and joy.

Returning to my 9-to-5 desk job wasn’t possible—mentally, physically, or emotionally. But we had bills to pay, and I found myself at a crossroads. In that moment, I felt like I had nothing to lose and everything to gain by pursuing what I loved most: photography. I didn’t know if I would fail or succeed, but I knew in my heart that capturing meaningful moments for families like yours was exactly what I was meant to do.

Speaking of family - this is mine!

The Lord blessed us with a daughter a year after we lost the twins and this is what my family looks like now. Yes, photographers need photos too! I like to practice what I preach and be the client from time-to-time. It's good to get to experience what it's like on the other side of the lens so that I know how to serve my clients the way I like to be served! I'm especially grateful for these family photos taken by my friends and fellow Chattanooga photographers, Christin Sofka in 2023 and Robbie McCrary in 2024.

Chattanooga Photographer FAQ

Where are you located?

I live in Chattanooga, TN. Okay, technically I live in North Georgia but literally just across the state line. I'm closer to downtown Chattanooga than some people who have actual Chattanooga mailing addresses. But I consider myself a Chattanooga photographer as that is the area I primarily serve.

Do you travel?

Yes, I love traveling! Especially to anywhere with a beach or mountain view! If you'd like me to travel for your photos, let's chat!

How do I contact you?

Fill out the form above or email me directly at ChristianMichellePhotography@gmail.com

Do you ever partner with non-profits?

I love to support my local Chattanooga community! I have offered free sessions as prizes in raffles and have volunteered time photographing local events and groups that also serve my community. If you would like to partner with me for an important cause, I would love to chat!

What gear do you use?

My camera is a Nikon Z8 and I have several lenses for different situations. My favorite lens is my 85mm 1.2 or my 70mm-200mm 2.8! I primarily shoot in natural light but use both on-camera and off-camera flash when necessary.

Do you photograph weddings?

Not at this time. I'm choosing to focus on other areas but I'm happy to recommend some friends who specialize in wedding photography!

Do you want to hang out?

Heck yes! Seriously, send me a message.
